Create a New Item from Markup

You can create a new work item directly from a drawing markup by selecting the markup you want to create a new item from, and selecting the Create and Link button.

  1. From the home page, under Projects, click on the name of the project you want to open.
    Alternatively, click in the upper left-hand corner, click Projects, and then click the name of the project you want to open.
    The Dashboard for the project appears.
  2. Click the Drawings tab, and then navigate to and click on the drawing you want to view.
    The drawing opens in your browser.
  3. Select the drawing markup you want to create a new item from, and click the Create and Link button .
    The Create Related Record window appears.
  4. From the Record Type drop-down list, select the work item type you would like to create.
    The New Item window appears.
  5. Fill in all relevant fields for your new item based on markup.
  6. Click Save as Draft.
The work item is saved in draft status. You can edit the item to attach files, add comments, and review it before sending it
